Were you expecting super competitive pricing in the new Nexus devices? Well prepare to have your hopes dashed as the new Nexus 6 and 9 have been announced and they start from 649 and 399 USD respectively. Yes, both these devices feature the latest Android 5 Lollipop. Anyways, if you’re still looking for the latest and greatest from Google, then you might want to know about the specifications of each device.

Nexus 6

The phone, produced by Motorola, features a 6" 2560 x 1440 pixel display, which gives it a pixel density of 496ppi. The premium display is backed up by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a 2.65GHz quad-core Krait 450 CPU inside and 3GB of RAM.

At the back, there's a 13MP f/2.0 camera with dual-LED flash. Internal storage is either 32GB or 64GB, but there's no microSD card slot. At the front, there are two stereo speakers and a 2MP front-facing camera.

The battery is a 3,220mAh unit, which isn't user replaceable. However, it sports Turbo Charging, which allows you to get up to 6 hours of use from the Nexus 6 with only 15 minutes of charging.

Google promises the phone can make it through 24 hours of usage without problems. Pre-orders for the Motorola Nexus 6 start on October 29 with shipments scheduled to start sometime in November.

Nexus 9

The tablet, produced by HTC, packs a 9" IPS LCD with the unusual for Android aspect ratio and a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels (that's 4:3 aspect ratio).

The 7.9mm thick Google Nexus 9 is powered by the Nvidia Tegra K1 chip with a 2.3GHz CPU, the very potent Kepler DX1 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The available storage is either 16 or 32GB, but there's no expansion slot.

There are BoomSound stereo speakers. For your photography needs the tablet features an 8MP rear camera and a 1.6MP front-facing snapper.

A 6,700 mAh battery resides inside the Nexus 9, although there are no estimates on how long it will last on a charge.

Power users will appreciate the optional keyboard that Google unveiled alongside the slate. It magnetically attaches to the back of the Nexus 9 and should provide a huge boost to productivity.

The Google Nexus 9 will be available in on pre-order starting from October 17, while actual sales begin on November 3.
