Quick Easy Breakfasts

How often do we think about nutrition while having our breakfast? Having a healthy breakfast might be the last thing you care about, or even worse, it might not be on your morning to-do list. However, you should know that a healthy breakfast not only refuels your body but also jump-starts your day by benefitting your overall health. For working adults, it is more important than you think because of the nutrition demands of the body.

Now let us have a look at the basics of a healthy breakfast:

Oatmeal

It is very common for the working professionals of our country to not have enough time to prepare breakfast. For them, oatmeal can be a quick and healthy alternative, which is largely available in the departmental stores of Bangladesh. Beta-glucan, a type of fiber that helps in lowering the cholesterol, is present in Oats.

It is also rich in potassium, folate, and omega-3 fatty acids. Need more reasons to have it? Oats takes about 5 minutes to cook which makes it a great healthy choice for those who want to have a quick breakfast.

Cereals

Breakfast cereal is another way to fill up your nutritional needs. It will not be difficult for you to find cereals like Kellogg’s Corn flakes in the stores as these items are quite popular in our country. We strongly advise you to avoid the sugary ones though. These cereals are good source of Vitamin D (important for healthy bones), Iron and Protein.

Low-fat dairy products

Dairy products are enriched with protein and protein gives us energy. Hence, it is very important to have sufficient protein in our breakfast meal. Bread with milk, mayonnaise, cheese, or Nocilla /Nutella can be a good options.

Fruits and Fruit Juice

Fruits and fresh fruit juice without added sugar can be a good addition to the breakfast. Try to select diversified fruits that will fill all your vitamin needs (such as Vitamin A, B, C etc.). We all know the saying “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away.”

Egg

If you are in a hurry and do not have the time to cook anything, cook up a quick omelet. Omelets  are simple to cook and will not take more than 3 or 4 minutes to cook. Eggs are a high source of protein and will help you to keep up your energy level all day long.

It is important to eat the right food to stay healthy. So, store up your pantry with aforementioned items for your breakfast now.
