There have been many people who have influenced me and those who have set great examples in my life. Many of those people were teachers that I have had from Kindergarten to the present time. If I had to choose one who has had the greatest influence, it would have to be my mother. She’s a professional teacher herself and puts much effort and time in teaching. There are many reasons why she is my favorite teacher of all time, but there is not enough space to share all of these, so I will share some.
She is professionally an English teacher specializing in O and A levels (and I’m lucky to attend her classes of course!). But what makes me wonder is her areas of expertise. She is equally expert in different subjects and that includes co-curricular activities, too! She makes learning fun and doesn’t believe in fixed time for learning. She gives her all into teaching. Knows her subject incredibly well; it is her love really. She is really refreshing in different areas of learning with her trademark inspiring approach and a penchant for jokes. It's difficult to articulate exactly what makes her so good but it is a combination of a love of teaching and the strength to take everything that comes her way in her stride. I love the way she plainly speaks; if something is crap she’ll tell you it is crap and if it’s good she’ll say it’s good. She never heaps the superlatives of excellence and brilliance and you really knew that "quite good" from her meant something. More than all that was simply the stories she has whenever the students meander off course and I can honestly say that I learned a whole lot of things from her. Also, her trademark phrase- “My God, you’re running late” always makes me tick. In her lessons, studying does not mean copying out of textbooks and writing pages and pages of notes. Education is alive; it is something tangible, that you can see, hear and feel, in her words. She has taught in various schools and colleges and she will always be the most important teacher in my life, because there has never been a teacher able to bring education to life in quite the same way she does.
