What are synonyms?
Synonyms are words that are similar in meaning. The spelling, pronunciation both can be different but the meaning will be quite same. For e.g :
Happy, delighted- both mean to feel good or happy.
Quick , fast – both means to hurry.
Some more examples :
Kind and generous, pleasant and nice, worry and tension, eat and consume, female and woman, irritate and annoy, late and delay, hungry and starving, etc.
What are antonyms?
Antonyms are words that are opposite in meaning. Both spelling and pronunciation might be different since they are two different words and this time the meaning will be opposite. For e.g :
Happy and sad- opposite, we know it right?
Fat and thin
Some more examples:
Long and short, truth and lie, hungry and fool, surprise and disappoint, love and hatred, satisfied and dissatisfied, legal and illegal, mortal and immortal, etc.
