In other word Homophone are words that have same pronunciation, but different meanings & with the same or different spelling. The meaning of the word depends on where and how it is used in the sentence.
Example 1:
1) The knight wore armour that was very heavy.
2) The night was dark so he went to sleep.
Explanation:
The word knight in sentence 1 means a medieval soldier whereas the word night in sentence 2 means the time after sunset.
So from the above example it is clear that even though the words knight t & night have the same pronunciation, they are spelled differently and have different meanings.

2) They are very important to make strong steel.
Explanation:
The word steal in sentence 1 means to take without permission whereas the word steel in sentence 2 means a metal alloy.
