The fourth season of "Spelling Bee" was launched in the capital’s The Daily Star Centre, on 16th July, to help school students enhance their spelling skills after the success of the last 3 seasons. The season commencement ceremony was held to meet the teachers and the press and to announce the opening of Spelling Bee Online Round, which can be played by students from the 16th of June to the 15th of July to get access to Divisional Round.
Hosted by Champs21.com, an initiative of The Daily Star, the competition will be held across the country. Students of class VI to X, from both English and Bangla medium schools, are eligible to take part in it.
Mahfuz Anam, Editor and Publisher of The Daily Star; Muhammed Aziz Khan, Chairman of Summit Group of Companies; Shykh Seraj, Director and Head of News of Channel i and Russell T Ahmed, CEO of Champs21.com were present at this commencement ceremony.
Students who have more words in their minds are able to understand, express and communicate better, said Mahfuz Anam, editor and publisher of The Daily Star, addressing the teachers present at the programme.

Russell T Ahmed, CEO of Champs21.com, welcomed everyone to the kickoff of another season, presented an overview of last three years’ competition, and explained this year's format. He thanked everyone for their patience and eager participation in another season of the Spelling Bee.
The competition will have three phases — Online Round, Divisional Round, and TV Round. After registering on www.champs21.com, the students in the first round will have to play the Online Round on the website to get access to the Divisional Round by 15 July 2015 latest.
Last year, almost 3 lacs students took part in the event and this year, he hoped, the number would reach a much higher number. He enthused on the participation of students through online and the importance of the internet in education.
He urged the teachers to encourage students to read The Daily Star and visit Champs21.com regularly to read all the educational articles as some words might be picked from there.
This year the event is styled "The Daily Star Spelling Bee – Enlightened by Summit, brought to you by Champs21.com." Summit Group joined the Spelling Bee 2015 as the main sponsor this year.

More than 200 teachers of 150 city schools joined the launching ceremony of the competition at The Daily Star Centre in the capital.
